Bermuda Investment Advisory Services Limited (BIAS) is looking for a Bermudian candidate to train in the investment industry. The engagement is for a year, subject to completion of the first level of the Canadian Securities Course during the five month probationary period. Permanent employment will be granted subject to completion of the second level of the Canadian Securities Course.

Learning Opportunity:

  • Assisting portfolio managers with administrative support in managing client portfolios so as to have a birds eye view of how portfolios are managed.
  • Gathering KYC (know your client) information for consideration by the Compliance Manager to meet Bermuda Monetary Authority requirements,
  • Document client instructions in our proprietary client management system and monitor client accounting records to ensure accuracy of execution and that funds are available to cover security purchases.
  • Bloomberg research, confirming market prices of securities, market trends, and client statement accuracy.
  • Portfolio performance calculations.

Success Characteristics:

  • University degree in finance, economics, or mathematics.
  • Must enjoy research.
  • Propensity to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Excellent spread sheet skills.
  • Commitment to complete tasks even if it means overtime.
  • Good people skills
  • Determination to complete the Canadian Securities Course within 10 months.
